ܩܕܳܡܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܣܶܓܕܰܬ̣݀ ܘܰܒܥܳܬ̣݀ ܡܶܢܶܗ ܡܶܢ ܡܳܪܶܐ ܟܽܠ

سَجَدَتْ أمامَ ربِّ الكُلِّ وطَلَبَتْ منهBefore Him she bowed down and asked of Him, the Lord of allDevant Lui elle s’est prosternée et Lui a demandé, au Seigneur de toutQdomaw seghdat wa’b’ot meneh men Moré khoul

ܕܰܢܨܽܘ̣ܪ ܐܳܦ ܒܳܗ̇ ܚܰܫ̈ܶܐ ܕܰܣܒ̣ܰܠ ܥܰܠ ܦܽܘܪܩܳܢܰܢ

أن يُصوِّرَ فيها أيضًا الآلامَ الّتي احتمَلَها لأجلِ خلاصِناThat He might trace in her too the sufferings He bore for our salvationQu’Il grave en elle aussi les souffrances qu’Il a portées pour notre salutDa’nsour of boh hashé da’sbal ’al fourqonan

ܡܶܚܕܳܐ ܢܚ̣ܶܬ ܗ̱ܘ̣ܳܐ ܒܺܐܝ̈ܕܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܨܶܨ̈ܶܐ ܘܰܕܡܳܐ ܒܕܰܦܢܶܗ

نزلَ حالًا والمساميرُ بيدَيهِ والدمُ في جنبِهِAt once He came down, the nails in His hands and the blood in His sideAussitôt Il est descendu, les clous dans ses mains et le sang à son côtéMehdo nhet wo b’idaw sesé wa’dmo b’dafneh

ܘܫ̣ܰܪܺܝ ܠܡܶܟܬܰܒ ܐܰܝܟ ܕܰܫ̣ܦܰܪ ܠܶܗ ܥܰܠ ܗܰܕܳܡܶܝ̈ܗ̇

وشرَعَ يكتُبُ كما حَسُنَ له على أعضائِهاAnd He began to write, as it pleased Him, upon her limbsEt Il s’est mis à écrire, comme il Lui plaisait, sur ses membresW’shari l’mektab akh da’shfar leh ’al hadoméh

ܡܳܐ ܐܰܪܺܝܟܳܐ ܗ̱ܝ̣ ܗܳܝ̇ ܬܰܫܥܺܝܬܳܐ ܕܶܐܡܪܳܐ ܪܰܫ̣ܡܳܗ

كم هي طويلةٌ تلكَ الحكايةُ الّتي كتَبَها الحمَلُHow long is that story which the Lamb inscribedQu’elle est longue, cette histoire que l’Agneau a inscriteMo arikho i hoy tash’ito d’Emro rashmoh

ܫܢܰܝ̈ܳܐ ܬܠܳܬܺܝ̈ܢ ܐܶܫ̣ܬܰܥܺܝ ܗ̱ܘ̣ܳܐ ܕܪܶܓܬܶܗ ܢܫ̣ܰܡܠܶܝܗ̇

ثلاثونَ سنةً وضَعَها ليُتمِّمَ رغبتَهThirty years He spent that He might fulfill His desireTrente années Il a mises pour accomplir son désirShnayo tlotin eshta’i wo d’reghteh nshamléh

ܟܰܕ ܠܳܐ ܟܬܺܝܒܳܐ ܗ̱ܝ̣ ܒܩܰܢܝܳܐ ܫܚܺܝܡܳܐ ܐܳܦܠܳܐ ܒܡ̈ܶܠܶܐ

وهي ليسَتْ مكتوبةً لا بريشةٍ ولا بكلماتYet it is written neither with a common pen nor with wordsOr elle n’est écrite ni avec une plume ordinaire ni avec des motsKad lo ktibo i b’qanyo shhimo oflo b’melé

ܐܶܠܳܐ ܒܣܳܦܪܳܗ̇ ܠܳܐ ܡܶ݀ܫܟܰܚ ܐ̱ܢܳܫ ܕܢܶܣ̣ܬܰܟܰܠ ܠܳܗ̇

ولا يقدِرُ أحدٌ أن يفهمَها من دونِ كاتبِهاAnd no one can understand it apart from its WriterEt nul ne peut la comprendre sans son ÉcrivainElo b’sofroh lo meshkah nosh d’nestakhal loh

ܣܰܒ̣ܘ ܚܰܒܺܝ̈ܒܰܝ ܬܰܪ̈ܬܶܝܢ ܓܶܦܺܝ̈ܢ ܕܺܐܝܬ ܠܰܨܠܺܝܒܳܐ

يا أحبَّائي خُذُوا ذراعَي الصليبTake, my beloved, the two arms that the cross hasPrenez, mes bien-aimés, les deux bras qu’a la croixSab habibay tartén gefin d’it la’slibo

ܦܪܰܚ̣ܘ ܒܶܐܒܪ̈ܰܝܗܽܘܢ ܨܶܝܕ ܗܰܘ̇ ܕܶܒܚܳܐ ܢܟܺܝܣ ܗ̱ܽܘ̣ ܚܠܳܦܰܝܢ

طيرُوا على أجنحتِهما نحوَ الذبيحِ المُقَرَّبِ لأجلناFly on their wings toward that Victim slain for usVolez sur leurs ailes vers cette Victime immolée pour nousFrah b’ebrayhoun séd haw debho nkisou hlofayn

ليسَ للحُبِّ شيءٌ آخرُ إلّا ذاتُهُLove has nothing else but its very selfL’amour n’a rien d’autre que lui-mêmeHoubo layt leh medem hrino elo yoteh

ܕܰܢܩ̣ܰܪܶܒ ܗ̱ܽܘ̣ ܚܠܳܦ ܦܽܘܪܩܳܢܳܐ ܕܥܳܠܡܳܐ ܟܽܠܶܗ

ليقرِّبَها لأجلِ خلاصِ العالمِ كلِّهTo offer up for the salvation of the whole worldPour l’offrir en vue du salut du monde entierDa’nqarebou hlof fourqono d’olmo khouleh

ܡ̈ܶܠܶܐ ܥܪ̈ܰܩܝ ܗ̱ܘܰܝ̈ ܕܠܳܐ ܢܶܬܡ̈ܰܠܠܳܢ ܐܰܝܟ ܫܰܬܺܝܩܺܝܢ

هرَبَتِ الكلماتُ لئلَّا تصرُخَ مثلَ خرساءَWords fled away, that they be not spoken, as though muteLes mots se sont enfuis, pour n’être pas dits, comme s’ils étaient muetsMelé ’raq way d’lo netmallon akh shatiqin

ܥܰܠ ܗܳܝ̇ ܪܰܦܩܳܐ ܕܫܰܪܒܳܗ̇ ܪܳܡ ܗ̱ܽܘ̣ ܡܶܢ ܐܳܡܽܘܪ̈ܶܐ

لكنَّ الفرحَ يُشِعُّ ويرقُصُ على شفَتَيهاYet joy leaps and dances upon her lipsPourtant la joie bondit et danse sur ses lèvresElo hadwo doyso w’roqdo ’al sefwotoh

ܠܚܽܘܕܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܐܺܝܬܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܐܶܡܪܳܐ ܡܩܰܒܠܳܐ ܒܰܪ ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ

إبنُ اللهِ هو وحدَهُ الحملُ المَرضِيّHe alone is the acceptable Lamb, the Son of GodLui seul est l’Agneau agréé, le Fils de DieuLhoudaw itaw Emro mqablo Bar Aloho

لكيما معَكِ نسبِّحَ الآبَ والابنَ والروحَ القدسThat with you we may praise the Father, the Son, and the Holy SpiritAfin qu’avec toi nous louions le Père, le Fils et le Saint-EspritD’amekh nshabah l’Abo wa’lbro wa’lRouh Qoudsho
